What is Modal and What are the benefits?
This special fiber derived from beech wood was discovered in Japan in 1951.Modal is a fiber called regenerated cellulose, as it derives from natural raw materials but is transformed into fabric due to a production process that breaks down the cellulose.
Specifically, the beech cellulose is carefully chopped and then melted. What is obtained is a viscous compound which is passed through small holes capable of generating very thin fibers. The primary fibers of Modal are then spun to form the finished product.
The most significant feature of the Modal fabric is its softness. Furthermore, Modal is thin, smooth and light. Its fibers have a greater ability to retain water than those of cotton.
Today more and more often theModal fabric it is mixed with cotton to improve quality. It is therefore a quality fiber that has a natural origin and which even makes the cotton it is mixed with more valuable.
It does not make the body sweat thanks to its breathable function providing comfort to your baby, especially in hot climatic conditions. Therefore it is particularly used in models that require close contact with the skin such as undergarments. It is ideal for babies and children.
It is quite resistant to wear. Can be washed multiple times in the washing machine without shrinking or changing shape. It always maintains its characteristics of the first day even after many washes.
